Thomas MacLennan obtained his law degree from Dalhousie University in 1987. After completing his articles and bar admission course, he was called to Ontario’s bar in 1989. Thomas draws on over 30 years legal experience in family and estates law in Ontario.
Thomas brings expertise over a wide range of legal services, including conference, motion and trial work, alternative dispute resolution, negotiation of agreements and advocating financial, custody and access disputes. As a litigator, Thomas has extensive trial experience in the Ontario Courts, including the Superior Court of Justice.
Thomas is a past instructor in Family Law in the Law Society of Ontario’s Bar Admission Course. He is a past executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Family Law Section. He is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association, the York Lawyers Associations and the Advocates Society. He was a mentor in Ryerson University’s Law Practice Program and an advisor in their trial advocacy course. He is a coach and advisor in the Law Society’s Coach and Advisor Network offering mentorship and advice to young lawyers. He acts as a tutor to students in the Law Society of Ontario’s bar admission course in the areas of family law, civil litigation, estates law and professional responsibility.
